No Annual Fee Credit Cards

No Annual Fee credit cards waive the standard annual charge that applies to most cards in Australia.

For many people who use their card regularly a small annual fee is worth paying; a No Annual Fee credit card is more of an advantage for Australians who use their card only for emergencies or who completely clear their balance each month.

These cards may lack rewards programmes or privileges that are included on cards that charge an annual fee. Check out the best ones below.

No Annual Fee Credit Cards

No annual fee credit cards are exactly what they say they are: cards that incur no ongoing yearly account maintenance fee.

The annual fee is often used by credit card companies to make up for some other costly or, at least, low profit-making features that they are providing, such as rewards programs or low interest rates.

When A No Annual Fee Card Make Most Sense

A no annual fee credit card can be attractive for people that don’t use their card a lot and therefore find it hard to justify paying $100, for example, for something they only use a few times per year.

For Australians that use their credit cards frequently – in some cases every day – it's much easier to spread the cost of the card over the high volume of purchases you make and justify it that way.

Consider Other Factors

For most Aussies a no annual fee credit card might be a "nice to have" feature but it won’t be make or break for their decision.

Most people don’t mind paying a small fee if they can save money or get perks in other ways, such as a 55-day interest free period (potentially saving a lot more per year than a $50 annual fee), a low APR that saves interest payments each year or a great frequent flyer program.
